It is very unfortunate for the Senate to have convicted you of a non-impeachable offense. For while they are to be condemned by by the next generations of enightened Filipinos, YOU WILL FOREVER BE REMEMBERED IN THE ANNALS OF HISTORY FOR HAVING CHAMPIONED THE FILIPINO CAUSE.
UNLIKE THE MAJORITY OF THE SENATORS AND REPRESENTATIVES WHO HAVE BEEN IN PUBLIC OFFICE SINCE TIME IMMEMORIAL - from father to son, son to grandson, IN TWO YEARS OF YOUR TERM AS A CHIEF JUSTICE, YOU HAVE DONE YOUR PART TO REFORM THIS NATION, WHICH THOSE WHO ACCUSED YOU MISERABLY FAILED TO DO FOR SEVARAL DECADES NOW. For one, you breathe life to the rights of the farmers to be free from the bondage of the soil, a right generations have fought for but none except you dared to take up the challenge and for which you are impeached. Second, for reforming the conduct of the bar exams, which leveled the playing field amongst aspiring lawyers. And third for setting a standard of transparency and accountability amongst public offciers by signing a waiver, which again no one dared to do because they are the ones guilty of what they accused you.
